Biography
Aaron Basimarha is a communications professional, journalist, and community development practitioner with over 20 years of experience in institutional communication, media, and rural development in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He currently serves as a Communications Consultant at the African Agricultural Leadership Institute (AALI), supporting the visibility of agricultural development initiatives and promoting community engagement. Prior to this role, he led the Communications Department at ATA-DRC and served within the Communications Unit of the South Kivu Provincial Government as Editor-in-Chief, contributing to public information dissemination and institutional outreach.
Aaron holds a degree in International Relations from the Official University of Bukavu and has completed several professional trainings in strategic and institutional communication. His expertise spans institutional communications, public relations, journalism, strategic content development, community mobilization, and awareness campaigns. He is particularly committed to promoting sustainable agriculture, food security, and rural resilience through effective communication and stakeholder engagement. In recognition of his contribution to information dissemination and community development, he received the “Young Emerging Leader” Award from Coexi International in 2020.
