Biography
Mautin Akapo is a seasoned finance professional with over fifteen years of professional experience in accounting, auditing, and financial management, with a strong focus on financial governance, compliance, and strategic resource management within development and private sector organizations.
He currently serves as Unit Head and Finance Manager at the African Agricultural Leadership Institute (AALI), where he provides strategic financial oversight and ensures sound financial governance to support the effective implementation of the organization’s development programs.
He holds a Master of Science in Finance from Afe Babalola University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Lagos. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), reflecting his strong professional standing in the accounting and finance profession.
With extensive experience, he has built a solid career in financial management, audit, and compliance. Prior to joining AALI, he held key finance and audit positions at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, as well as at ZOA & Associates and other organizations in Nigeria, where he contributed to strengthening financial systems, improving compliance frameworks, and supporting audit and control functions.
He is recognized for his expertise in financial governance, budgeting, project accounting, and strategic financial oversight, contributing to effective financial planning, accountability, and the efficient management of resources in support of institutional objectives and program impact.
