Biography
Serge Amato Masirika is a development professional with over ten years of experience in agricultural research and development, with a strong focus on project management, private sector engagement, and the design of inclusive agribusiness models across value chains.
He currently serves as Private Sector Engagement & Senior Project Manager at the African Agricultural Leadership Institute (AALI), where he leads initiatives that strengthen collaboration with private sector actors and oversees the design and implementation of projects aimed at advancing agricultural value chains and inclusive agribusiness development.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Rural Economics from the Catholic University of Bukavu, providing him with a solid foundation in socio-economic analysis and rural development. Prior to joining AALI, he worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he contributed to program performance tracking and supported evidence-based decision-making. He has also played a key role in supporting youth-led agribusiness initiatives, conducting market assessments, and mapping agricultural value chains to inform development interventions.
He contributes to strengthening private sector engagement and promoting practical, inclusive, and sustainable agribusiness models, supporting entrepreneurs and development programs in achieving measurable and lasting impact.
