Partnerships

AALI operates as an independent, non-governmental international organization that bridges the gaps between political leadership and governance, research, education, service delivery, investment and capacity building. AALI works collaboratively with the public, private and philanthropic sectors to fuel inclusive growth and help countries in Sub-Saharan Africa achieve their agricultural goals through a better understanding of agriculture as a business rather than a business. than as a subsistence way of life.

Partnership with the development banks that advance African agriculture, particularly the AfDB, IFAD and the World Bank, is essential. AALI’s institutional design, problem-solving expertise, and shared focus with development organizations will help solidify these relationships. In many cases, these collaborations require the conclusion of formal agreements, in others it can be done by participating in missions in the countries.

Ours Partners

This strategic partnership aims to enhance the alignment of interventions with national agricultural priorities at a time when food security in the DRC remains a critical driver of economic and social development. Through this agreement, both parties seek to reinforce their efforts to support local farmers, improve agricultural productivity, and promote inclusive and sustainable agriculture in the DRC.

BHAF & Latiwa Foundation

The African Agricultural Leadership Institute (AALI) has opened a new chapter of collaboration with BuildHerAFuture Africa (BHAF) and Latiwa Development Foundation to empower girls, women, and youth in agribusiness and the circular economy opportunities. This strategic partnership brings together expertise, innovation, and institutional engagement to foster inclusive, sustainable, and technology‑driven agricultural development across Africa.

The partnership, announced in late 2025, aims to create pathways for young agripreneurs—particularly young women—to participate meaningfully in agriculture and its adjacent industries. Through this collaboration, AALI and its partners will work to unlock opportunities in green jobs, AgriTech innovation, and regenerative practices that support both economic growth and environmental sustainability.

The relationship between AALI, IITA and One CGIAR

AALI is designed to capitalize on the many strengths of outgoing IITA staff while striving for even greater results in the future. AALI will help IITA continue its role as a leader in international agricultural research and service delivery in Africa, while serving as a new model of governance for the modernization of agriculture. Planned areas of collaboration with IITA  include (i) facilitating IITA’s engagement with governments; (ii) using technological advances from IITA and other CGIAR Centers to inform investment programs; (iii) connecting IITA with the private sector, in particular suppliers of production inputs; (iv) representing the interests of IITA as ambassadors and champions; (iv) mentorship of young scientists, specialists and managers of IITA; and (v) fundraising. AALI is housed within the Campus Chief O. of the IITA in South Kivu.

Angel Foundation

As part of its partnership with ALLI, ANGEL FOUNDATION benefits from strategic support aimed at strengthening high-potential value chains. This collaboration focuses on providing technical assistance and specialized expertise to structure and consolidate sectors with strong growth potential.

The objective is to enable the large-scale development of these sectors, thereby creating increased economic opportunities and promoting youth employment and entrepreneurship. Through this partnership, ANGEL FOUNDATION and ALLI work together to advance sustainable, innovative, and inclusive solutions that contribute to socio-economic development.

As part of its partnerships with financial institutions, ALLI benefits from the support of banks to strengthen its interventions in the agricultural sector. This collaboration helps to better structure, develop, and segment agribusiness and financial products tailored to farmers’ needs.

Through this partnership, ALLI facilitates farmers’ access to appropriate financial services, contributing to improved agricultural productivity, the development of rural economic activities, and more inclusive growth.
