The African Agricultural Leadership Institute (AALI) organized a strategic field demonstration and exchange session in collaboration with the Angel Foundation, the Enabel RDC, and the Economic and Commercial Office of the Belgian Regions to showcase tangible results achieved by women entrepreneurs supported through AALI’s agribusiness support program.
This event brought together 15 women agripreneurs who have participated in a six‑month technical and entrepreneurial support program funded by Angel Fondation. The session provided a platform for participants to present their projects, share their experiences, and highlight measurable improvements in revenue and job creation resulting from the combined technical guidance and tailored support provided by AALI.
The demonstration emphasized practical achievements in agribusiness management, marketing, and value addition. Women entrepreneurs discussed how access to technical advisory services, mentorship, and business development support has contributed to improved productivity and stronger connections to markets. This interaction also fostered dialogue with representatives from the Belgian Embassy and key stakeholders such as Equity BCDC, opening pathways for future collaboration and market linkages.
Participants reflected on their growth throughout the pilot phase, noting gains in confidence, expanded customer reach, and a clearer vision for scaling their enterprises. The session also created opportunities to discuss challenges and opportunities in agribusiness, particularly for women and youth seeking to break into competitive value chains.
This field event signals the progress and potential of inclusive agribusiness development in urban contexts like Kinshasa, where targeted support and multi‑stakeholder cooperation can significantly enhance economic participation for women. With plans to expand the program to a larger cohort in 2026, AALI and its partners remain committed to empowering women and young agripreneurs across the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
